News is the core business of APA - Austria Press Agency. 24 hours a day 365 days a year, APA's editorial team reports on all current events and affairs in an independent, reliable, fast, and impartial manner.
APA's editorial departments provide the Austrian media (daily newspapers, magazines, TV and radio companies) with the necessary basis for their daily news coverage. APA thereby supplies the basis for the flow of information in Austria. On account of its close cooperation with the world information network APA brings international news to Austria, relays Austrian news into the world information network, and thus makes a major contribution to the free flow of information worldwide. The APA basic service produces 560 news articles per day; with the annual number of news articles published exceeding 200.000. It covers the areas of foreign and domestic affairs, economics, cultural affairs, science, education, media, and sports.
News coverage through APA is not only crucial for the media sector. Decision makers in all sectors and markets (economics, politics, associations, and institutions) utilize APA information as a solid basis for their decisions.
In addition to the written word, APA also reports on current events with visual means. With more than 281.000 press photos and 1.800 graphics, APA supplies extensive material as visual supplementation to diverse topics. Furthermore APA produces numerous current audio and video clips for online media and Internet portals.

The professional research platform APA-OnlineManager (AOM) with its sophisticated search functions offers real-time access to the APA basic service (classic editorial news coverage) and to APA's digital archive. APA moved to the downtown location at Vienna's Naschmarkt in the summer of 2005.
