Objective – The Austrian prize for press photography
The photos printed in a newspaper are often a decisive factor as to whether or not an article will be read. Since 2006, APA - Austria Press Agency and Canon Austria annually award "Objective", the Austrian prize for press photography. The competition is addressed to all photographers in Austria. A jury rates the topic, creativity, and theme, as well as the technical and artistic quality of the submitted photos

Journalism Award “Writing for CEE”
The media play a major role in the process of European integration. To honour this fact, APA in cooperation with Bank Austria, has awarded the annual journalism prize "Writing for CEE" since 2004. Journalists from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and South Eastern Europe are eligible to apply. Features on Europe and the European Union with special focus on the CEE and SEE countries, contributing towards overcoming borders and prejudices, and enhancing cultural diversity, are taken into consideration for the award. The "Writing for CEE" award is endowed with 5.000 Euro.
